Ephesians 4:10 - 13 (NIV) 10He who descended is the very one who ascended higher than all the heavens, in order to fill the whole universe.) 11It was he who gave some to be apostles, some to be prophets, some to be evangelists, and some to be pastors and teachers, 12to prepare God’s people for works of service, so that the body of Christ may be built up 13until we all reach unity in the faith and in the knowledge of the Son of God and become mature, attaining to the whole measure of the fullness of Christ.
Ephesians 4:14 - 16 (NIV) 14Then we will no longer be infants, tossed back and forth by the waves, and blown here and there by every wind of teaching and by the cunning and craftiness of men in their deceitful scheming. 15Instead, speaking the truth in love, we will in all things grow up into him who is the Head, that is, Christ. 16From him the whole body, joined and held together by every supporting ligament, grows and builds itself up in love, as each part does its work.
The body of Christ is not supposed to have their ears tickled so they can be comfortable. The are to have truth spoken to them in love by the Apostles, Prophets, Evangelists, Pastors and teachers that God has set in the body for it's edification or building up in love.
God wants a powerful witness upon this earth of the heavenly kingdom and the tickling of the ears will not accomplish this. False doctrine or powerless preaching, will not accomplish the beautiful powerful church Jesus came to establish on this earth.
It will take TRUTH spoken in love to establish an edified body of Christ that takes the Word of the Lord as a must and becomes in truth the LIGHTS Jesus declared us to be. The church ought to be able to stand before this world and declare that if you have seen me you have seen Jesus - why? BECAUSE HE LIVES IN US - Paul shows us that it should no longer be us that lives but Christ living in us. That is the excellence to strive for and God will perfect it for the world to see Jesus.
"The church is not a social club...we are a holy people called out of darkness to show forth the glory of almighty God." AW Tozer
Acts 1:8 (KJV) 8But ye shall receive power, after that the Holy Ghost is come upon you: and ye shall be witnesses unto me both in Jerusalem, and in all Judaea, and in Samaria, and unto the uttermost part of the earth.
Receive ye the Holy Spirit of God as sent by The Lord Jesus Christ!

A Big Thing
"Little things are little things...but faithfulness in little things is a Big thing."

The Lord places great value on faithfulness. At the time I stand before the Lord I want to hear the words - Well done my good and faithful servant.
Be faithful even unto death and receive your crown of life.

Are You Ready for Bigger Things?
Are You Ready for Bigger Things?
“You... enlarged me when I was in distress.” – Psalms 4:1 AMP
Did you know that the hermit crab looks for a shell that fits him, and then lives in it until he outgrows it? At that point he has to scurry along the ocean floor and find a bigger one; it’s a process that repeats itself throughout his entire life.
Are you clinging to something that no longer fits you, just because it’s easy and familiar? David said, “You... freed me when I was hemmed in and enlarged me when I was in distress.” To develop and grow spiritually you must be willing to move out of your comfort zone and deal with a little ‘distress.‘ What worked for you yesterday may not work today.
Maybe it’s a job you’ve outgrown, a relationship you need to re-examine or a behavior you need to change. Regardless of what it is, never become so ‘settled‘ that you can’t let go and move on when you need to. Patience and persistence are admirable, but they won’t work in situations you’ve outgrown. Instead of hanging in and trying harder, at certain points you have to stop and ask yourself, “Is this situation good for me?” If you’re not sure, ask God for “an understanding heart [to]... know the difference between right and wrong. (1 Kings 3:9). His Word says, “If you need wisdom, ask our generous God, and he will give it to you” (James 1:5).
When God says it’s time to move on, it’s because there’s another shell out there that will fit you even better. But you can’t take occupancy until you vacate the old one. So how about it – are you ready for bigger things?

Set Apart For God by God
From my early childhood I have never felt like I fit in anywhere in this world. I have always felt that I was an outsider. Even in the body of Christ I feel that I am set apart to God for God and His purposes. I have been frustrated at times because I march to the tune of a different drummer and I was always striving to be accepted by others and tried to fit their mold and live up to their expectations of me. Until one day I understood that God has given me Jesus to be my all in all and that it is that relationship, eternal in it's nature, that needs to be developed and cultivated. At this point in my life I care very little about the judgements of people on my life and my personality. I am set apart for God by God and my desire is greater and greater growth in that relationship.
God has called me and continues to equip me so that I am able to help to equip others. I have been discipled to disciple others for the kingdom work that must be done.
The Lord has requested that we pray the Lord of the harvest that He send forth laborers into the harvest, which is His. Even pray that He would send us for the harvest IS plenteous but the laborers are few.
Jeremiah 1:4 - 10 (KJV) 4Then the word of the LORD came unto me, saying, 5Before I formed thee in the belly I knew thee; and before thou camest forth out of the womb I sanctified thee, and I ordained thee a prophet unto the nations. 6Then said I, Ah, Lord GOD! behold, I cannot speak: for I am a child. 7But the LORD said unto me, Say not, I am a child: for thou shalt go to all that I shall send thee, and whatsoever I command thee thou shalt speak. 8Be not afraid of their faces: for I am with thee to deliver thee, saith the LORD. 9Then the LORD put forth his hand, and touched my mouth. And the LORD said unto me, Behold, I have put my words in thy mouth. 10See, I have this day set thee over the nations and over the kingdoms, to root out, and to pull down, and to destroy, and to throw down, to build, and to plant.

STILL STANDING - click here
STILL STANDING
Every victory we win over the flesh and the devil will soon be followed by an even greater temptation and attack. Satan simply will not give up in his war against us. If we defeat him once, he’ll redouble his forces and come right back at us. And suddenly we’re in a spiritual war we thought we’d already won.
Scripture tells us, “The Syrians set themselves in array against David, and fought with him” (2 Samuel 10:17). Suddenly, David was facing the same old enemy—one he thought he had defeated soundly. It is important to note that David was not living in sin at this time. He was a godly man who walked in the fear of the Lord. Yet David was also human—and he must have been awfully confused about what was happening. Why would God allow this enemy to come against him again?
Have you stood in David’s shoes? Have you prayed, “Lord, all I want is to please you—to obey your Word and do what is right. You know that I fast, pray and love your Word. I don’t ever want to grieve you. So why am I being tempted so severely? Why am I facing this same battle with an old enemy?”
“And as since the time that I commanded judges to be over my people Israel, and have caused thee to rest from all thine enemies. Also the Lord telleth thee that he will make thee an house. And when thy days be fulfilled, and thou shalt sleep with thy fathers, I will set up thy seed after thee, which shall proceed out of thy bowels, and I will establish his kingdom” (2 Samuel 7: 11-12).
In the midst of his confusion and soul-searching, David remembered the promise God had made with him. So while the devil was throwing every weapon in hell at David, the Lord was showing him that even before he entered battle he would emerge a victor. David got his eyes off the oncoming enemy. Instead he basked in the revelation of God’s lovingkindness. This is what God intends for every one of his children when the enemy comes on them like a flood. The Lord “prevents” them with his love. In other words, he comes to them saying, “I promise you are going to come out of this standing. You may be wounded—but that doesn’t matter. I have already made you victorious.”

Questions pastors and leaders should ask themselves. Click here
Perry Noble's statement reflects my desire as well. He says "MY PASSION is not to be an innovative leader but rather an obedient servant who hears the voice of the Lord and does what He says. The church does not need my creativity and ingenuity but rather the power of HIS HOLY SPIRIT as only HE can truly change lives!"
I believe that the work of the Holy Spirit is critical in the building of the kingdom of God. He is also the only way to understand Jesus and what we have in Him because of who He is.

Delays Happen
Do Not Be Anxious About Anything
An old train on a branch line was puffing and creaking slowly through the countryside when suddenly it lurched to a stop. The only passenger in the three-car train rose quickly to his feet and hurried to find the conductor. "Why have we stopped?" he demanded. "I'm I a salesman and I have an appointment in less than an hour in the next town. Surely this old train can make it through a pasture!"
The conductor smiled, "Nothing to worry about, sir. Just a cow on the tracks. Gotta wait her out." The salesman returned to his seat, fuming and fidgeting until the train began to creep forward again about ten minutes later. It chugged along for a mile or two and then ground to a halt once again.
This time the conductor found the salesman. "Don't worry," he said. "We'll be on our way shortly. It's just a temporary delay." The exasperated salesman asked, "What now? Did we catch up to the cow again?"
What the salesman didn't know was that the schedule for this particular train had been made so as to allow for temporary delays and cows on the track! The salesman made his appointment, but he was worn to a frazzle by his own frustration and concern.
Allow for delays. You'll enjoy life's journey more.

Renewed not Removed
Romans 12:1 - 3 (KJV) 1I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, that ye present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable unto God, which is your reasonable service. 2And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God. 3For I say, through the grace given unto me, to every man that is among you, not to think of himself more highly than he ought to think; but to think soberly, according as God hath dealt to every man the measure of faith.
In our everyday lives Christians seem to make so many frivilous decisions about things sometimes. We overload our credit cards and pray for a miracle, which is foolish for sure.
Remember we are in the process of being changed into the likeness of God's dear Son, Jesus Christ. I heard Joyce Myers say on one of her TV programs: "Act responsible, have your mind renewed not removed".

The Importance of Understandable Communication with Words.
1 Corinthians 14:6 - 12 (KJV) 6Now, brethren, if I come unto you speaking with tongues, what shall I profit you, except I shall speak to you either by revelation, or by knowledge, or by prophesying, or by doctrine? 7And even things without life giving sound, whether pipe or harp, except they give a distinction in the sounds, how shall it be known what is piped or harped? 8For if the trumpet give an uncertain sound, who shall prepare himself to the battle? 9So likewise ye, except ye utter by the tongue words easy to be understood, how shall it be known what is spoken? for ye shall speak into the air. 10There are, it may be, so many kinds of voices in the world, and none of them is without signification. 11Therefore if I know not the meaning of the voice, I shall be unto him that speaketh a barbarian, and he that speaketh shall be a barbarian unto me. 12Even so ye, forasmuch as ye are zealous of spiritual gifts, seek that ye may excel to the edifying of the church.
In these verses it is revealed to us, by Paul’s desire and spiritual understanding put on paper, how to communicate the Word of Truth, with understanding, to the people of God, the church and to those outside the church as well.
Let’s look at 4 ways that communication is opened up to all who would hear the vocal impartation of Truth.
1. Speaking by revelation – Mt 16:16-20 is one example of what is meant. Flesh and blood has not revealed it to you but the Father in heaven. Understanding of Jesus, the Word of God and the Father’s wisdom is imparted by the Gifts given by God for solid communication of this understanding for edification such as the Word of knowledge, and the Word of Wisdom etc.
2. Speaking by knowledge – This can be what experience has taught us, others and what has been established as good and true guided by God’s Word.
3. Speaking by Prophecy – Speaking by the gift of prophecy what the Lord is saying, to those in the hearing of that Word, now. A Rhema Word. This Word is given under the anointing and by the unction of the Holy Ghost in a known language.
4. Speaking by Doctrine – Teaching the established principles and truths of God’s Word as established by the Bible. The truths taught concerning salvation, water baptism, the incarnation, the Gospel of the kingdom and other sound principles that will build up the faith of those who hear.
Unless people can understand what they are hearing it becomes just noise and does not edify but confuses the hearer. The object of speaking in our gatherings is edification. This is very important to the Lord. Let all things be done decently and in order.
