No Earthly Good
Colossians 3:1-4(KJV)
1If ye then be risen with Christ, seek those things which are above, where Christ sitteth on the right hand of God.
2Set your affection on things above, not on things on the earth.
3For ye are dead, and your life is hid with Christ in God.
4When Christ, who is our life, shall appear, then shall ye also appear with him in glory.
One of the lies of the devil is you shouldn’t be so heavenly minded that you are no earthly good. That is so far from the truth and the church has bought into that saying as being true.
We are instructed as true Christians to base our lives from the heavenly aspect. Seek those things that are above where Christ sits in the place of power and authority. He is the ultimate supplier of ALL that we have need of according to His riches in glory by Christ Jesus.
Set your affection that is to say (intensively to interest oneself in (with concern or obedience) as part of the meaning from STRONGS GREEK AND HEBREW DICTIONARY) to the word affection. If you can remember when you were going out with “the one true love of your life” the one you just couldn’t get enough of. The one you thought about all day long and called every time you got a chance even right you left each other just a few minutes ago. With that kind of intensity seek those things that are above…
Jesus Christ is your life and He is supposed to be seen in you. Your life is NOT supposed to reflect Him but show Him as alive in you. It is not longer I THAT LIVETH BUT Christ that liveth in me. Jesus said we are lights in the world not reflections. The problem in the church is just that. People don’t mind reflecting something because that doesn’t demand that they change but being a light demands we change and be to be seen as light.
You need to be so heavenly minded so as to be some earthly good. You are to be a witness unto the Lord in all the earth. The gospel is to be in power and not just words.

Daniel W. Kerr was the primary author of the 1916 Statement of Fundamental Truths. One of the early parsonages he and his family lived in was actually an abandoned log chicken house that Kerr made into living quarters. One Christmas, his two children each received one penny in their stockings. And for Christmas dinner — they boiled potatoes. With our material prosperity, we sometimes forget that many go without. When God does provide for our needs, but not our wants, do we express gratitude or do we grumble?

The Problem with Vision - click here
Here is a blog entry about vision and how it works in this persons life. God's vision is both a source of joy and frustration to a pastor or other leader in the body of Christ.
Joy because you are seeking God and He is revealing His heart to you about some direction of ministry.
Frustration because everyone doesn't see where you believe God wants to go and resists the changes necessary or they have and believe that they can't get there from here mentality.
My take on it is this: If it is God's vision revealed to you then it is God's responsibility to bring it to pass. My responsibility is to do what I know God wants me to do right now and keep a right heart. Joseph is a great example of God bringing to pass the dream Jeseph had but it didn't come about in a conventional way of thinking and Joseph didn't make it happen but he served God through everything. He did what he knew was right to do where he was and with what he had.

Love and greetings I am happy to let you know that our church house is
doing quite well, I must tell you that God has moved in our midst like never before. A case in point is where recently, A certain lady who is a member of our church lost her child meaning that the child died, and was brought to us for prayer. I was not present and my wife took the dead child into her arms and prayed so intensively for more than an hour and then began thanking the Lord for the healing just in faith then suddenly the child resurrected then followed wild excitement from the mother and other fellow believers as tears were in plenty while the testimony became the source of overwhelming joy for many who learned about it.
Let us keep praying for each other for the strengthening of God's Kingdom

More on How to Get the Job Done
On January 12, 1723, Jonathan Edwards made a solemn dedication of Himself to God. It was one of the defining moments of His life. And I'll share the written vow in a moment.
Few people have left the kind of legacy that Jonathan Edwards did. He is famous for his sermons, including Sinners in the Hands of an Angry God, that helped spark the Great Awakening. He graduated from Yale at 13 as valedictorian. After graduating, he is said to have studied thirteen hours a day. He also served as President of Princeton.
But the thing I find most impressive is that he spent one hour every evening with his eleven children. He prioritized his family and the results speak for themselves. Of his known descendants, more than 300 have become ministers or missionaries; 120 became university professors; over 100 became lawyers; 60 became prominent authors; there are 30 judges, 14 college presidents, 3 members of congress, and 1 vice-president.
How would you like to leave that kind of legacy?
Back to January 12, 1723. Edwards gave himself to God with these words:
I made a solemn dedication of myself to God, and wrote it down; giving up myself, and all that I had to God; to be for the future, in no respect, my own; to act as one that had no right to himself, in any respect. How to Get the Job Done!
How Much Money Do You Have, Lord?
Dr. Charles Stanley, pastor of First Baptist Church in Atlanta, tells the story of a time when their church needed two million dollars to relocate to a larger facility. The only problem was they didn’t have the money. One day, the board members told Dr. Stanley to get a loan from the bank because the deal sounded good. However, Dr. Stanley told the group that they needed divine direction, so they all packed their gear and took off for a state park for the weekend for a time of prayer. All weekend they prayed earnestly that God would give them direction and help them resolve the problem that they were facing.
When they finally left the park, they still didn’t have any clear direction about how to purchase the building. But they were committed to waiting on God. A few days later, Dr. Stanley had a message to call a man he had never met. He lived in another state. The man said that he wanted to help Dr. Stanley’s ministry.
Immediately, Dr. Stanley called him back, and the stranger said, “I have had you and your ministry on my mind the past several days. I notice that you never ask for money on the broadcast, and I was wondering if you have any needs.”
Dr. Stanley explained the situation about the building and how they needed two million dollars to purchase it. The stranger said, “I think I can handle that.” And he gave that church two million dollars. That church had a problem; they gave their problem to Jesus; and their problem was solved.

Cancer Surgeon Appointment Made
Monday September 29, 2008 I have an appointment with the surgeon, Dr Wolfgang Schaurt, that I originally talked with before I needed to have heart surgery. He will examine me and we will go forward from there with the removal of what is there of the cancer mass (if it is there) that was already treated with radiation and chemo.
Isaiah 54:17 is still in effect for my life as given to me before I knew that I had all this going on in my body.
Isaiah 54:17 (NIV) 17 no weapon forged against you will prevail, and you will refute every tongue that accuses you. This is the heritage of the servants of the LORD, and this is their vindication from me,” declares the LORD.

And most would also say that you have to become a top 12 finalist on Idol to earn a lucrative recording contract. Brooke Barrettsmith proves both assumptions wrong. Medical Update on my heart operation
I go back to the cardiologist on Wednesday afternoon for my 6 week heart check up after my operation for a quad bypass. This doctor did my heart catherization and found the blockage in the main arteries at 95% and in several other arteries as well.
I also go back to my surgeon who did my open heart operation on 9-15-08 this coming Monday afternoon. He has to check out his handiwork and see how the Lord has healed me ahead of what is normal.
Keep me in prayer as I will have to, after being released from the current recovery situation, face the removal of the cancer mass from my rectum. That is unless the Lord removes it by His own removal touch. (this is the prefered way)
At least I have gotten a little settled down after having to wait the 6 to 8 weeks after heart surgery to even consider the other. The operation for the removal of the cancer couldn't be done until the heart was repaired and strong enough for me to survive the operation without having a heart attack on the operating table.
Isaiah 54:17 still is in affect for me....no weapon that is formed against me shall prosper...Praise the Lord who is Good All the Time

Hi everyone!
I'm back home as of Monday afternoon. I was operated on last Thursday and had four by-passes done on the heart instead of five. The doctor came in on Sunday afternoon and asked me if I wanted to go home on Monday and I said yes. So on Monday morning he came in and asked what time I wanted to go home and he released me to go, after looking at my inscision etc., at 11 am.
I am restricted in what I can do for sure but it is great to be home again.
2 Corinthians 12:7 - 10 (KJV) 7And lest I should be exalted above measure through the abundance of the revelations, there was given to me a thorn in the flesh, the messenger of Satan to buffet me, lest I should be exalted above measure. 8For this thing I besought the Lord thrice, that it might depart from me. 9And he said unto me, My grace is sufficient for thee: for my strength is made perfect in weakness. Most gladly therefore will I rather glory in my infirmities, that the power of Christ may rest upon me. 10Therefore I take pleasure in infirmities, in reproaches, in necessities, in persecutions, in distresses for Christ’s sake: for when I am weak, then am I strong.
I am this verse walking once again.

Latest on my operation
My operation has been postponed because of the results of a stress test that I took the other day. They seem to think that I have had a silent heart attack at some time and that I need to see a cardiologist before They would put me under for the length of time that I would need to be under for the cancer removal, resectioning, removing my galbladder and placing an illiostomy bag on me as a tempory solution for waste removal until the intestine healed after surgery.
So it is just one more thing to pray about relying on the Word of God that was given to me that NO WEAPON FORMED AGAINST ME SHALL PROSPER.. Isaiah 54:17
