There’s a big learning in this short video clip. I hope you didn’t just listen to the words Perry used, but noticed how he communicated this important principle. In addition to explaining the “logistics” of the offering, he used these few moments to:

Share why the offering is important to what we do. (Vision)
Tie it all to a personal experience. (Story)
Link people back to what Jesus said in the Bible. (Truth)
Remind people that the offering is part of worship. (Action step)
Perry doesn’t always introduce the offering. The introduction isn’t always this long. But we do take a few moments to explain why we do an offering in every service.

This post isn’t about offerings. This is a post about communications. There is power in vision, story, truth and providing action steps for people.
