Ephesians 5:1 - 2 (KJV) 1Be ye therefore followers of God, as dear children; 2And walk in love, as Christ also hath loved us, and hath given himself for us an offering and a sacrifice to God for a sweetsmelling savour.
2 John 1:5 - 6 (NIV) 5And now, dear lady, I am not writing you a new command but one we have had from the beginning. I ask that we love one another. 6And this is love: that we walk in obedience to his commands. As you have heard from the beginning, his command is that you walk in love.
As we walk in the love of God that has been shed abroad in our hearts, by the Holy Spirit, we begin to see that love is not out of our emotions and/or our feelings.
Love is much greater than just those things and that is why true love has power that is released in it. God's love has forgiveness built into it. Self serving love does not and loves with conditions placed in it. God's love is such that because He is Love that He loves regardless of ........ the church is to live out this kind of love. We tend to be very opinionated about people and make emotional evaluations instead of reacting with the Spirit of the Lord who dwells in us.
God bless you as you endeavor to walk in love....
PS there is only one fruit of the Spirit and it is all intertwined..love,joy,peace etc
Another PS We are not to reflect God's love as some teach, but when people see us they should see Jesus just as Jesus said if you have seen me you have seen the Father. In other words it is no longer I that liveth but Christ that liveth in me.
Thus love is lived out not reflected.
Love is powerful! Blessings on Ya!
