Communicate, Communicate, Communicate

1 Corinthians 14:6-9(KJV)
6Now, brethren, if I come unto you speaking with tongues, what shall I profit you, except I shall speak to you either by revelation, or by knowledge, or by prophesying, or by doctrine?
7And even things without life giving sound, whether pipe or harp, except they give a distinction in the sounds, how shall it be known what is piped or harped?
8For if the trumpet give an uncertain sound, who shall prepare himself to the battle?
9So likewise ye, except ye utter by the tongue words easy to be understood, how shall it be known what is spoken? for ye shall speak into the air.

Paul shows us four ways of communication to the body of Christ by those who preach or teach. In the doing of these things there is profit to the body of Christ and something is accomplished in the kingdom.

Let's look at these four ways and learn from them.

1. By REVELATION
2. By KNOWLEDGE
3. By PROPHECY
4. By DOCTRINE

Revelation involves something given and revealed by the Spirit of the Lord.
Knowledge is information that one knows to be true and shared.
Prophecy is given through the gifts of the Holy Spirit in a known tongue.
Doctrine is shared and is what is established as the guidelines of the church.

All of these are ways that the body of Christ grows in the grace and knowledge of the Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ. This places a higher value on UNDERSTANDING than just on mere feeling. Being pentecostal doesn't eliminate the need for understanding and growth.

Blessings on Ya!
