AN ON FIRE CHURCH - how to have one

Here is some advise from Perry Noble to pastors:
My advice in regards to how to create excitement…

#1 – Get alone with God

#2 – Ask Him to reveal Himself to you in ways you’ve never seen/experienced before

#3 – Read the book of Acts over and over

#4 – Read the Gospels over and over

#5 – Hang out with people who are on fire (NOT the ones who have fire extinguishers)

#6 – DO NOT APOLOGIZE for your passion…EVER!!! (I would MUCH rather be accused of being too passionate than being apathetic!!!)

The first step to an ON FIRE CHURCH is an ON FIRE LEADER…and with ALL of the power and resources of the Holy Spirit, God’s Word…AND the amazing technology He has given us in today’s world…there is NO EXCUSE why we should not be PUMPED UP about the potential of HIS CHURCH accomplishing SO MUCH MORE than we could EVER imagine!

Understanding What We Have and Who We are in Christ

Hebrews 10:19-20(KJV)19 Having therefore, brethren, boldness to enter into the holiest by the blood of Jesus,20 By a new and living way, which he hath consecrated for us, through the veil, that is to say, his flesh;

As I read the passage above I thought on the title and asked the question: Do we understand who we are and what we have in Christ? What does it mean to have boldness to enter into the holiest. As I meditated on this my mind started to go to other places of scripture and this portion of scripture began to speak louder and louder to me concerning the fulness of what we have and who we are in Christ.

1. Because of the shed blood of Jesus we have access to all that is holy - to all that God has.
2. We have access to the presence of God - directly as individuals
3. We have the joy of the Lord.
4. We are the righteousness of God in Christ.
5. We are accepted in the beloved - highly favored of God
6. We have received both the mercy and the Grace of God actively in our lives.
7. We are blessed us with all spiritual blessings in heavenly places in Christ:
8. We have the compassion of Christ in healing and wholeness.
9. We have intimacy with the Lord. God's original intent was intimacy with His man.

Think on these things and be blessed as God becomes more real day by day in your life as you seek Him.
Paul puts it this way for the Ephesian believers: (and it my wish for all who read this today)

Ephesians 1:17-23(KJV)
17That the God of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of glory, may give unto you the spirit of wisdom and revelation in the knowledge of him:
18The eyes of your understanding being enlightened; that ye may know what is the hope of his calling, and what the riches of the glory of his inheritance in the saints,
19And what is the exceeding greatness of his power to us-ward who believe, according to the working of his mighty power,
20Which he wrought in Christ, when he raised him from the dead, and set him at his own right hand in the heavenly places,
21Far above all principality, and power, and might, and dominion, and every name that is named, not only in this world, but also in that which is to come:
22And hath put all things under his feet, and gave him to be the head over all things to the church,
23Which is his body, the fulness of him that filleth all in all.

Be encouraged in the Lord today!

Be encouraged in the Lord today!

Have you been frustrated lately with what is or isn't happening with you and the Lord? Especially in areas that you know what is supposed to be your destination or vision and the lack of the fulfillment of it. Well have you considered that the Lord is allowing the events of your life to be ordered so your faith is tried and perfected. You are learning to follow Him even when everyone is upset at you for the way things are now.
We need to learn to move when the Lord says move and stand still when the Lord says stand still in obedience to Him. Our leadership is being perfected and it must be done as He leads us. Consider the following scripture:

Psalms 130:5-6(KJV)
5 I wait for the LORD, my soul doth wait, and in his word do I hope.
6 My soul waiteth for the Lord more than they that watch for the morning: I say, more than they that watch for the morning.

Those that wait for the morning know it is coming with assurance. God Word is sure.

We must wait upon the Lord in two ways. That is to serve Him and paitently wait on instruction to accomplish what He wants us to do.
So I want to encourage you this morning or evening, depending upon where you are, not to get frustrated and think you have missed God just because people are upset with you. God's timing is everything and you are being tried as a leader and follower of God.

Be blessed today!

You Fit Here

Have you ever felt like a misfit.

My New Church Sign for April 13 - 18
Misfits Fit in Here

Jesus Came with an anointing for those that have problems and the mistreated and the misfits of life.

Luke 4:16And he came to Nazareth, where he had been brought up: and, as his custom was, he went into the synagogue on the sabbath day, and stood up for to read.
17And there was delivered unto him the book of the prophet Esaias. And when he had opened the book, he found the place where it was written,
18The Spirit of the Lord is upon me, because he hath anointed me to preach the gospel to the poor; he hath sent me to heal the brokenhearted, to preach deliverance to the captives, and recovering of sight to the blind, to set at liberty them that are bruised,
19To preach the acceptable year of the Lord.
20And he closed the book, and he gave it again to the minister, and sat down. And the eyes of all them that were in the synagogue were fastened on him.
21And he began to say unto them, This day is this scripture fulfilled in your ears

Our church ought to be full of the people that Jesus came for. What do you think?

Ambassadors

2 Corinthians 5:16-21(KJV)
16Wherefore henceforth know we no man after the flesh: yea, though we have known Christ after the flesh, yet now henceforth know we him no more.
17Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new.
18And all things are of God, who hath reconciled us to himself by Jesus Christ, and hath given to us the ministry of reconciliation;
19To wit, that God was in Christ, reconciling the world unto himself, not imputing their trespasses unto them; and hath committed unto us the word of reconciliation.
20Now then we are ambassadors for Christ, as though God did beseech you by us: we pray you in Christ’s stead, be ye reconciled to God.
21For he hath made him to be sin for us, who knew no sin; that we might be made the righteousness of God in him.

When is an ambassador not an ambassador? The answer is that he is always an ambassador. It doesn't matter where he is or what he is doing, he is always an ambassador. As an ambassador he represents always the country for which he is an ambassador. He may not be in the country he represents but he is the country as far as others are concerned.
My Question is this: Why does the church have such a hard time realizing that it is always the church? - we are representing the kingdom of God no matter where we are or what we are doing. We are in the world but not of it. Our lives are not compartmentalized, that is to say what we do is always directly related to who we are as Christians. We represent Christ in the church place, in the shower, at the work place or wherever we are. There is never a time when we seperate what we do from who we are.
You can't continue to do what the church folk have done for so many years by saying worship is one thing and our "jobs" are not connected etc. The church is weak in the world because of this compromising mentallity. We must either be all in or we are all out. Which is for you today?

Be all in Today

I Have Finished My Course

I Have Finished My Course

2 Timothy 4:6-8(KJV)
6For I am now ready to be offered, and the time of my departure is at hand.
7I have fought a good fight, I have finished my course, I have kept the faith:
8Henceforth there is laid up for me a crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous judge, shall give me at that day: and not to me only, but unto all them also that love his appearing.
In order to say that in our lives, several things have to happen.

1. You need to know what the course of your life is – purpose.
2. You need to know how to fight the good fight – warfare.
3. You need to keep the faith – know in whom you have believed.
4. You need to be steadfast – focused

So many people go through life with no goal or target to aim at. Bouncing around in the sea of life like a tiny bobber at the mercy of the currents. They are just tossed to and fro by the waves of life at will.
To finish our course with the idea of being successful in our life we must find our purpose, and know who we are to the degree that it becomes the driving force of our life and faith. This necessitates the giving ourselves to it to the fullest being steadfast, unwavering in our faithfulness to the calling and purpose of God for our life.

Compassion and Greater Works

Matthew 14:14And Jesus went forth, and saw a great multitude, and was moved with compassion toward them, and he healed their sick.

John 14:12(KJV) Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that believeth on me, the works that I do shall he do also; and greater works than these shall he do; because I go unto my Father.

A dictionary definition of compassion. - A feeling of deep sympathy and sorrow for another who is stricken by misfortune, accompanied by a strong desire to alleviate the suffering. (definition from Dictionary.com)

Does this describe the church today? Are we moved by compassion to do the same things Jesus did and more?

Blessings On Ya!

Here is a Litany of FORGIVENESS:

Forgive me Lord!
Here is a Litany of FORGIVENESS:
This was done at the church that we had the last Lenten luncheon service at yesterday. It is worth considering and doing when and where appropriate in your life.

For each statement the answer back is FORGIVE ME LORD.

For the times I lacked compassion and concern for others, -- FML
For not sharing my resources of time, talent, and treasure, -- FML
For holding grudges and refusing to have a forgiving heart, -- FML
For the times I have criticized and gossiped, -- FML
For not reaching out to comfort and console others, -- FML
For not caring for myself physically, emotionally, and spiritually, -- FML
For the ways I misuse nature and damage the environment, -- FML
For those times when I talked more than I listened, -- FML
For my predjudices, biases, and deliberate acts of discrimination, -- FML
For being greedy, -- FML
For the misuse and abuse of the wonderful gift of spirituality, -- FML
For failing to see your face in the homeless and helpless, -- FML
For believing that I could save myself, -- FML
For not living fully for you, -- FML
For doubting that you love me with an everlasting love, -- FML

You may want to place a few more in this line up depending on your thoughts and deeds.

May God bless you richly,
Pastor Kitner
