God Bles you in the New Year
Pastor Kitner

The challenge is to take the “LID” off this year.

What is it that stands in between you and God in getting something done for the kingdom of God?
One Sunday we had a prophetess at the church speaking and she challenged the church to take the lid off at the church.
What hinders us personally to the point that we hinder the church and its overall mission and become the people that say we never did it that way before and go round the same circle that we have always gone in. After all if you always do what you have always done then you will always get what you have always gotten before.
The challenge is to take the “LID” off this year.
Lids are multifunctional. They keep things in and they keep things out of the pot etc. So as individuals and as a church we need to take the lid off. We also need to see what the lids are for us as individuals and as the church. I have a few that I will list here to help us identify the lids of our lives.
1. The lid of Limitation – with God all things are possible.
2. The lid of we can’t & we won’t – choices are up to us.
3. The lid of not changing or status quo – I like it this way.
4. The lid of religious works – legalism or works righteousness & self righteousness.
5. The lid of we never did it that way – unwilling to change – nothing new to be tried.
6. The lid of I like our “little church”.
7. The lid of our own individual comfort zones.
8. The lid of selfishness – I want it my way – I want my kingdom built & my needs met.
9. The lid of doubt and unbelief.
10. The lid of what I can or can’t do – it depends on what I have or don’t have etc.
11. The lid of I believe God can – but never I believe God will.
12. The lid of it’s the pastor’s job that’s what we pay him for. He is not a hireling.
13. The lid of prayerlessness – I don’t have time to pray.
14. The lid of unwillingness to be involved.
These are a few lids that I have identified that will hinder the work of the church and the life of individuals. So what happens when you take the lid off?
When the lid comes off several things are evident.
When the lid comes off there is:
1. Access to something more being put in.
2. Access to what’s inside and something being taken out.
3. There is an openness or even an emptiness.
4. The limitation of the lid is gone.
5. The aroma of what is inside fills the place. – a sweet smelling savor or a stench?
6. When the lid comes off then God can fill us as individuals or the church with Himself.

Be Blessed

New Year's Challenge!

New Year's Challenge!

Jesus restated a portion from Isaiah that the Father's house is to be a house of prayer. In many, many places in the Word of God prayer is shown as being a vital part of a believer's life. So I have challenged our folks to a time of both prayer and fasting as we approach this new year.

I know that if we will seek Him with our whole hearts He will be found of us. The question then is not the availability of God but the status of our hearts. Those that hunger and thirst after righteousness shall be filled... When a thirsty man comes to a fountain he holds his cup in the upright position. So as the New Year approaches come to the fountain expecting to get the water of life poured in you hand held upright cup.

January 10 to the 15 every evening at 7 PM I have asked as many as can come to come for corporate prayer. This is for the life of the individuals and also the life of the church in the coming year. His promise is to direct trusting people in the right paths of their life.

Proverbs 3:5-6(KJV)
5Trust in the LORD with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding.
6In all thy ways acknowledge him, and he shall direct thy paths.

I have also challenged the folks to fast and pray...put the body under..press in with God...hear what the Spirit is saying to the church... This is a critical moment for this body, both corporately and as individuals. So this week of prayer will set the course of both for this year that lies ahead.

Blessings on Ya!

That I may apprehend that for which also I am apprehended of Christ Jesus.

Philippians 3:1-16(KJV)

1Finally, my brethren, rejoice in the Lord. To write the same things to you, to me indeed is not grievous, but for you it is safe.
2Beware of dogs, beware of evil workers, beware of the concision.
3For we are the circumcision, which worship God in the spirit, and rejoice in Christ Jesus, and have no confidence in the flesh.
4Though I might also have confidence in the flesh. If any other man thinketh that he hath whereof he might trust in the flesh, I more:
5Circumcised the eighth day, of the stock of Israel, of the tribe of Benjamin, an Hebrew of the Hebrews; as touching the law, a Pharisee;
6Concerning zeal, persecuting the church; touching the righteousness which is in the law, blameless.
7But what things were gain to me, those I counted loss for Christ.
8Yea doubtless, and I count all things but loss for the excellency of the knowledge of Christ Jesus my Lord: for whom I have suffered the loss of all things, and do count them but dung, that I may win Christ,
9And be found in him, not having mine own righteousness, which is of the law, but that which is through the faith of Christ, the righteousness which is of God by faith:
10That I may know him, and the power of his resurrection, and the fellowship of his sufferings, being made conformable unto his death;
11If by any means I might attain unto the resurrection of the dead.
12Not as though I had already attained, either were already perfect: but I follow after, if that I may apprehend that for which also I am apprehended of Christ Jesus.
13Brethren, I count not myself to have apprehended: but this one thing I do, forgetting those things which are behind, and reaching forth unto those things which are before,
14I press toward the mark for the prize of the high calling of God in Christ Jesus.
15Let us therefore, as many as be perfect, be thus minded: and if in any thing ye be otherwise minded, God shall reveal even this unto you.
16Nevertheless, whereto we have already attained, let us walk by the same rule, let us mind the same thing.

He will be found of us when we seek Him with our whole hearts. You were saved for His own purpose so nothing else in your life will make sense until you aprehend that for which you have been apprehended.

Blessings on Ya as you seek God in the begining of this new year coming up.

Proverbs 3:5-6(KJV)
5Trust in the LORD with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding.
6In all thy ways acknowledge him, and he shall direct thy paths.

The Christmas Truce by Ron White
It was referred to as the war to end all wars. Yet, two decades after World War I, the world found itself once again entrenched in a global battle. Why was the first world war referred to as the “war to end all wars”? It earned this name because it was believed that with all the modern weapons of war, no nation would dare attack another for the sure bloodshed that would follow. The destruction of the first world war was horrific, with more than 10 million giving their lives in the name of their country.

In the midst of this brutality, death and destruction, one of the most peculiar sights in human history evolved on a Christmas night in 1914. It was a sight rarer than watching a Texas baseball team in the World Series. On this incredible night almost a century ago, soldiers on the western front did the unthinkable. Only days, and perhaps hours, before, these men had found themselves frozen to the bone in the cold rain and mud. The sound of mortars still rang in their ears. The sight of their brothers in arms falling to the ground from a volley of bullets was still fresh in their minds. Yet, something remarkable was about to take place on this Christmas Eve.

It was a truce in the fighting initiated by the low-ranking men selected to do the fighting and dying. By all accounts, this Christmas truce was not started by the British. It was, in fact, a result of the actions of the Germans. Yes, the country that it had become easy to vilify during this time period because of their horrific leaders and government policies was, in fact, a nation of people with hearts like you and I. These German soldiers lobbed a chocolate cake into the trenches of the British. Imagine that; you are used to seeing grenades land in your trench, and instead the enemy has lobbed a chocolate cake with a request for an hour truce. The truce was for a birthday party for their captain. The truce was granted.

As a soldier in this war, it was comforting to know that your enemy was in the same miserable conditions that you were—the cold, the mud and the stench of death. Remarkably, it was in these conditions that a truce was born, and soon Christmas carols burst out from the trenches of the Germans—once again, an olive branch. The British were at first reluctant, and rightfully so. This was war, and any trick is fair game in war. Although, it was recognized for what it was. Men with hearts, moms, dads, children, hobbies, girlfriends, wives and compassion were overcome with that compassion on the anniversary of the greatest sacrifice in the history of mankind. It was Christmas and the anniversary of the birth of a man who laid down his life for others, and the Germans were overcome with this spirit.

That Christmas Eve, soldiers who had been engaged in the war referred to as “the war to end all wars,” because of this brutality, tossed their weapons of destruction aside and embraced, sang Christmas songs and even wandered the battlefield, playing soccer with each other and sharing cigarettes. It has been said that hundreds—and as many as thousands—participated in this most magical holiday truce.

There is something about this time of year that you can’t pinpoint. It is something that you can’t put your finger on. It is a spirit that is in the air. It is a spirit that begs you to forget differences, to embrace those you love and even those you don’t. It challenges you to give until you can’t give anymore. Sometimes the cloud of challenges in life can spur a person to brush aside the undeniable feelings that are in the air at Christmas. Too often, the pressures of life can convince you the spirit of joy and giving that you are sensing is nothing more than a coincidence of the time of year. In 1914, a handful of low-ranking German soldiers knew that what they felt in their hearts about Christmas was true.

These men did not brush aside the impromptu feelings of peace and love for their fellow man. Instead, they lobbed a chocolate cake and a note of truce. I encourage you to allow yourself to be overcome this Christmas with the same spirit that took these soldiers captive almost a century ago. You may feel you are entrenched in some kind of your own personal battle. If so, allow yourself to be overwhelmed with the spirit of giving and joy, and toss a chocolate cake out there. You just might be surprised at the outcome.

A Forever Gift

Proverbs 18:24(KJV)
A man that hath friends must show himself friendly: and there is a friend that sticketh closer than a brother.
At this time of the year we celebrate the birth of Jesus Christ the Lord. He truly is the friend that sticks closer than a brother.

For the joy that was set before Him He endured the cross. That joy is in part you and I as we have come to God through Jesus Christ.

We were created for His pleasure and His purpose so in this Christmas season let us give joy to the Lord. Worship Him in Spirit and in truth..proclaim Jesus as Lord to the world so they can decide to follow Him.

Receive God's best gift - it is a forever gift.

Has the Day Star Risen in Your Heart?

16For we have not followed cunningly devised fables, when we made known unto you the power and coming of our Lord Jesus Christ, but were eyewitnesses of his majesty. 17For he received from God the Father honour and glory, when there came such a voice to him from the excellent glory, This is my beloved Son, in whom I am well pleased. 18And this voice which came from heaven we heard, when we were with him in the holy mount.

19We have also a more sure word of prophecy; whereunto ye do well that ye take heed, as unto a light that shineth in a dark place, until the day dawn, and the day star arise in your hearts: 20Knowing this first, that no prophecy of the scripture is of any private interpretation. 21For the prophecy came not in old time by the will of man: but holy men of God spake as they were moved by the Holy Ghost.

The Bible is the progressive Word of God that continuously takes us into what was, what is and what is to come.

Christmas is a reminder of the marvelous light we have been given in Christ Jesus our Lord. Is the Day Star risen in your heart today? Have you received God's marvelous gift of eternal life through Jesus Christ? If not, why not? Make this the first true Christmas of your life and receive Jesus as your Lord and Saviour and have the Day Star risen in you.

John 1:12-13(KJV)
But as many as received him, to them gave he power to become the sons of God, even to them that believe on his name:
Which were born, not of blood, nor of the will of the flesh, nor of the will of man, but of God.

America Take five to Pray

We have begun to do a study in the book of Acts at this time on wednesday evenings. We had spent 6 weeks on Acts 1:5 and Acts 1:8 looking into all that is concerned in the receiving of power after that the holy Spirit comes upon us.

In the book of Acts one finds that the church began in prayer as the 120 waited on the promise of the Father. They were in one place in one accord. They had one heart and one mind and that was to seek God and wait until He endued them with the power that Jesus told them not to leave Jerusalem without.

Question: If the church began in prayer and Jesus declared that the Father's house was to be a house of prayer, how then shall it continue to walk in the same power that it began in? My logical thought here is to say that it should continue in more prayer than I have seen thus far in the church.

Prayer is where the power is released to the church. Prayer is where the Holy Spirit is invited to release the things of Jesus to the church and bring the kingdom of God to the earth. Jesus said that this Gospel of the kingdom shall be preached in all the world for a witness and then the end shall come. That happens as the power of God is released through the church and they are a witness unto Jesus Christ in all the earth.

Wednesday evenings will be a time of prayer here at First Assembly of God so the power of God will be released into the lives of people as they come to church here.

Prayer time should draw people that are serious about serving God and people with problems, so people will be saved and the Lord's will be done on the earth as it is in Heaven.

God bless and we hope to see you on both Wednesday and Sunday as we gather together in The Name of The Lord.

I personally invite you to come. I invite you also to go to the following web site and sign up at Join the Reveloution to pray in one accord for America. America Take five to Pray (click on the title)

The author of the book America Take Five to Pray is a member of the church here at Blairsville Pa. and Michele Vento is available to come and help your church group get into prayer for this nation of America. You know we need to come together in agreement for the nation as a whole and for the people as individuals. Also we must pray for the leadership of the country as well according to the scriptures. Call the church today and make arrangements for her to come to your ministry group.

PS As we approach the New Year we are going to set aside at least a week for prayer and fasting starting January 10,2010 through January 16, 2010. This is seeking God for direction as individuals and as a church body for the coming year. We need to come to the one who directs our steps seeking Him for revelation of His direction and will for our lives in the coming year.

BUT NOT

"Gossip" is what is said behind your back, but not to your face; "flattery" to your face, but not behind your back.

How To Get A Vision From God

How To Get A Vision From God?
James Morocco taught at the Leadership Conference in Gettysburg on why God chooses to work through vision. One of the aspects of what he taught was HOW TO GET A VISION FROM GOD.
1. A Burden - Nehemiah's vision was birthed by seeing the problem (the city of Jerusalem was destroyed and the walls were broken down). When Nehemiah looked at the problem God's people were facing, he felt the burden of the Lord.

2. A Challenge - It wasn't until David had to face Goliath, that David became David. That challenge was his defining moment. Out of the challenge, David's life message and true vision was established.

3. A Prophetic Word - Paul received a prophetic 'word' about the calling he had to reach the Gentiles. He was called prophetically to leave the church in Antioch and plant churches throughout Asia.

4. A Personal Experience - one way that this works is that you have an opportunity to personally experience something that imprints upon you a vision of what is possible. The disciples had experience the miracle working ministry of Jesus. It was easier for them to see the vision for that in their own lives.

5. A Contagious Experience - getting around a person of vision can rub off on you. There is an infectious affect that can be imparted when we get around someone passion and success.

God always begins his work with vision. God speaks. God acts. God speaks again. This is the cycle of how he operates in the world. He wants to speak to us and give us a vision of what He wants to do.

True vision is the work of the Holy Spirit. It's not something that we can just come up with on our own. There must be a work of the Spirit in us where the Holy Spirit births a picture of what He is about to do on the earth and in the sphere of our influence.

This kind of Holy Spirit vision is birthed only as we take the time to seek the Lord. There also is a powerful dynamic released when we have people agree with us and pray over us for the vision that we long for to be released.

In the West, Christmas has become a symbol of excess - clk here

Daniel W. Kerr was the primary author of the 1916 Statement of Fundamental Truths. One of the early parsonages he and his family lived in was actually an abandoned log chicken house that Kerr made into living quarters. One Christmas, his two children each received one penny in their stockings. And for Christmas dinner — they boiled potatoes. With our material prosperity, we sometimes forget that many go without. When God does provide for our needs, but not our wants, do we express gratitude or do we grumble?

“Not called!” did you say?

“Not called!” did you say? “Not heard the call,” I think you should say. Put your ear down to the Bible, and hear Him bid you go and pull sinners out of the fire of sin. Put your ear down to the burdened, agonized heart of humanity, and listen to its pitiful wail for help. Go stand by the gates of hell, and hear the damned entreat you to go to their father’s house and bid their brothers and sisters and servants and masters not to come there. Then look Christ in the face — whose mercy you have professed to obey — and tell Him whether you will join heart and soul and body and circumstances in the march to publish His mercy to the world. - William Booth,Founder of the Salvation Army

THE WELSH REVIVAL OF 1904-05

THE WELSH REVIVAL OF 1904-05 - Oliver W. Price

During the spring of 1904 a young Welshman named Evan Roberts was repeatedly awakened at 1:00 a.m. He met with God until 5:00 a.m. The Welsh revival followed. Churches were packed for prayer meetings. In a prayer meeting for young people, Pastor Joseph Jenkins asked for testimonies. A young girl named Florrie Evans, who had only been a believer a few days, rose and with a trembling voice said simply, "I love Jesus with all my heart." The other young people's hearts were melted. A powerful spiritual awakening that brought 100,000 people to Christ was under way.

On November 7th, 1904 Moraih Chapel was filled to capacity for a prayer meeting that lasted until 3:00 a.m. Soul winning spread through the coalmines. Profane swearing stopped. Even the miners' horses were puzzled when their masters stopped cursing. Orders to the Bible Society "for Scriptures from Wales during November and December, were over three times the amount for the corresponding months of 1903..." The Times said this resulted from the Welsh revival, adding that this demand showed no sign of falling off.

"The mighty and unseen breath of the Spirit was doing in a month more than centuries of legislation could accomplish" the pastor of Saint John's-Wood Presbyterian Church declared on Sunday, January 1st, 1905 according to the London Times.The Welsh revival "had a great effect" in healing spiritual carelessness among Christians and "the growing bitterness which has accentuated our unhappy divisions", the Bishop of Bangor declared on January 2nd, 1905. He called "congregations to meet together often for united prayer."

Do you long to see God move like that in our day?

Do you long to see God move like that in our day? What if, one hundred years later, God so moved in our nation that hundreds of thousands of people, even millions, flooded the churches? If so, remember there is never great, widespread revival without personal revival. Do you seek a personal, deep, Spirit-led movement of God in your life? Then consider these aspects of personal revival taught by Evan Roberts, known as the Four Points:

1. You must put away any unconfessed sin.
2. You must put away any doubtful habit.
3. You must obey the Holy Spirit promptly.
4. You must confess Christ publicly.
May God raise up a generation of people with this passion.

What Season is it anyway?

I live in an area where they renamed the Christmas season as "Sparkle Season". Christmas by any other name is still Christmas!!! Sparkle didn't come to save you, Jesus did!
Happy hollidays just doesn't cut it with me. I even have a hard time with Xmas. Think about this also: Is there only one season for giving with the Christian or should giving be an all year thing?

No Other Name!

Acts 4:7-14(KJV)
And when they had set them in the midst, they asked, By what power, or by what name, have ye done this?
Then Peter, filled with the Holy Ghost, said unto them, Ye rulers of the people, and elders of Israel,
If we this day be examined of the good deed done to the impotent man, by what means he is made whole;
Be it known unto you all, and to all the people of Israel, that by the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth, whom ye crucified, whom God raised from the dead, even by him doth this man stand here before you whole.
This is the stone which was set at nought of you builders, which is become the head of the corner.
Neither is there salvation in any other: for there is none other name under heaven given among men, whereby we must be saved.
Now when they saw the boldness of Peter and John, and perceived that they were unlearned and ignorant men, they marvelled; and they took knowledge of them, that they had been with Jesus.
And beholding the man which was healed standing with them, they could say nothing against it.

There is only one way into the kingdom of God and only one way to be included in what God is doing in His kingdom. His name is Jesus!
Jesus is the Majesty of Christmas! The "holiday season" is because of Jesus and the celebration of His birth in fulfillment of scripture so man can be saved, forgiven and have eternal life. There is no hope for the people of this world apart from Jesus.

Be blessed in this Christmas Time

Wealth Redistribution

I found this on a blog...made sense in 1931 - How about today?

“You cannot legislate the poor into freedom by legislating the wealthy out of freedom. What one person receives without working for, another person must work for without receiving. The government cannot give to anybody anything that the government does not first take from somebody else.When half of the people get the idea that they do not have to work because the other half is going to take care of them, and when the other half gets the idea that it does no good to work because somebody else is going to get what they work for, that my dear friend, is about the end of any nation. You cannot multiply wealth by dividing it.”

~~~~ Dr. Adrian Rogers, 1931
This is speaking of a government mandated redistribution of wealth. The church has a mandate to consider the poor already. The Question is what is the church doing?..remember..the church is the people who are saved, not buildings.
Thanksgiving writings from times past.
Following are a few brief excerpts from articles written in the
"Pentecostal Evangel" by leaders of decades past on the topic of
thanksgiving. We hope they prove to be an encouragement and help to
you this Thanksgiving Day and throughout the year.
PRAISE CHANGES THINGS by Mrs. Chas. E. Cowman  November 24, 1934
... We found that prayer and praise are the two wings that mount the
soul upwards to God. Prayer asks, praise takes, or brings the
answer.
I fancy that someone is saying right here, "I have prayed, but I do
not feel like praising God. Praise in the valley of the shadow?
Praise when my heart is bleeding and torn? Tell me rather to weep!
How can I praise God at such a time?"
"Sacrifice ... the sacrifice of thanksgiving" is to praise God when
you are depressed and despondent, when your life is covered with
thick clouds and darkness, for it is acceptable to God, a "sweet
smelling savor to your Lord and King." While we are admonished to
"pray without ceasing," are we not also commanded to "rejoice
evermore"? "This is the will of God concerning you."
... Praise has a wonderful lifting power, and we need not be anxious
about the outcome of things if we will take the attitude of
deliverance and begin to praise.
... Try thanksgiving. Praise changes things.
WHY SHOULDN'T WE GIVE THANKS? by Chas. E. Robinson, November 20,
1943
... It would be easy to fill a very large book with authentic
accounts of marvelous answers to prayer < prayer for healing, for
the salvation of loved ones, for necessary money, for deliverances
in times of great danger, for "my God shall supply all your need
according to His riches in glory by Christ Jesus." Phil. 4:19.
Therefore let us join heartily in making November 25th, 1943, a day
of genuine, heartfelt thanksgiving.
THE THERAPY OF THANKSGIVING by Thos. F. Zimmerman < November 18,
1979
... When difficulties arise, there is sometimes a tendency to
neglect worship and thanksgiving and to concentrate on petition
alone. This is an unfortunate neglect. Focusing on problems without
remembering God's blessings and faithfulness results in forfeiture
of peace. Remembering past blessings results in the confidence that
God who has not failed His people in the past will not fail them
now.
... We can all rejoice that in our country one day has been set
apart in the year to remind us to be grateful. But thanksgiving
should be more than an annual experience. It should be a daily
attitude.
... When we make a conscious effort to appreciate our blessings
fully, we will offer the sacrifice of thanksgiving. Our faith will
be built up. Our problems will appear in proper perspective. Anxiety
will be replaced by the peace of God that passes all understanding.
And God will be glorified.
THANKSGIVING IS NOT A HOLIDAY by Glen D. Cole, November 22, 1992
... I have a grandson by the name of Caleb. He was by my side in the
car after a Sunday evening service on the way to a restaurant.
Everyone was quiet until he put his cheek by mind and said into my
ear, "Grandpa, I really do love you." I felt like giving him the
world. He had told me that he loved me before, but he had never used
the word really until this particular night. It was special.
As we drove in silence, the Holy Spirit spoke to my heart: "Why
don't you tell God the same thing more often?" It was a sermon I
shall never forget.
I choose to be a thankful, rejoicing person. It glorifies God and
keeps the devil away from my doorstep.
May throughout the land there arise a cry, "I choose to be thankful.
I will make thanksgiving a way of life, not just a holiday."
More Thanksgiving Goodies
May your stuffing be tasty
May your turkey plump,
May your potatoes and gravy have nary a lump....
May your yams be delicious and your pies take the prize, and
May your Thanksgiving dinner stay off your thighs!!
Things to Do to Liven Up Thanksgiving Dinner
Here is a little Thanksgiving humor . . .
Things to Do to Liven Up Thanksgiving Dinner
1. Load your plate up high, then take it to the kitchen, toss it all in the blender, and take your "shake" back to the table. Announce that it's the new Thanksgiving Weight Loss Shake.
2. When everyone goes around to say what they are Thankful for, say, "I'm thankful I didn't get caught" and refuse to say anything more.
3. Bring along old recorded football games, pop them in the VCR when Dad's not looking. Make sure it is set to the last two minutes of the game. When he comes into the room, turn off the VCR and turn on the regular TV.
4. Bring a date that only talks about the tragic and abusive conditions known to exist at turkey farms.
5. During mid-meal turn to mom and say, "See mom, I told you they wouldn't notice that the Turkey was past expiration date. You were worried for nothing."
Be blessed!
Have a wonderful and happy Thanksgiving Day and stay home on black Friday if you can... :-)
"America: Take Five to Pray"
"America: Take Five to Pray"
Michele Vento is co-founder and director of Shiloh Ministries International with her husband David. They have been serving the Lord in ministry in various capacities since 1988. David and Michele were sent as missionaries to the nation of Ireland for four years where they established a church in the capital city of Dublin and planted an other in County Wexford. Along with pastoring they helped fledging churches in other parts of Ireland and held several crusades for the entire body there.
Upon their return from Ireland, they continued in ministry and church planting and and conducted a two year Bible School. They also hosted their own morning radio show called "Lift Your Vision Higher"
David and Michele continue to travel throughout the USA and Ireland and where ever doors are opened. They currently attend and are an integral part of ministry at the First Assembly of God in Blairsville, Pennsylvania.
The Blairsville church is an apostolic five fold ministry hub for local, regional and worldwide outreach.
As part of an apostolic team that the Lord is putting together, they work closely with Pastor Charles and Marian Kitner in this work for the Kingdom of God.
The Apostolic and Prophetic gifts upon them have given them a mandate to incite others to fulfil their purpose, live radical lives for Jesus and reach their higher call. It is their strong desire to see the five fold ministry gifts functioning in the church today and the Word preached with signs following. In their meetings the manifest presence of God can be clearly felt and seen through the evidence of healings, deliverances and a strong prophetic voice in operation. The only thing that matters to them is that in all things "Jesus has the pre-eminence".
It is their prayer that as you read and meditate on the truths contained in their devotional book "America: Take Five to Pray" you will grow mightily in Jesus. As you "Take Five" along with many others you will see the fruit of your prayers for this nation.
David and Michele are determined to be a blessing to the Body of Christ and they have a timely message for this hour. They would be delighted to come and share at your church or conference. They believe the whole Word of God and He confirms it with signs following.
Michele is available to speak at you place of prayer and/or ministry and her book is available through the web site below.
The Lord is my portion, saith my soul
Morning and Evening: Daily Readings
by C. H. Spurgeon
The Lord is my portion, saith my soul.
Lamentations 3:24
It is not The Lord is partly my portion, nor The Lord is in my portion; but he himself makes up the sum total of my soul's inheritance. Within the circumference of that circle lies all that we possess or desire. The Lord is my portion. Not his grace merely, nor his love, nor his covenant, but Jehovah himself. He has chosen us for his portion, and we have chosen him for ours. It is true that the Lord must first choose our inheritance for us, or else we shall never choose it for ourselves; but if we are really called according to the purpose of electing love, we can sing--
Lov'd of my God for him again With love intense I burn; Chosen of him ere time began, I choose him in return.
The Lord is our all-sufficient portion. God fills himself; and if God is all-sufficient in himself, he must be all- sufficient for us. It is not easy to satisfy man's desires. When he dreams that he is satisfied, anon he wakes to the perception that there is somewhat yet beyond, and straightway the horse-leech in his heart cries, Give, give. But all that we can wish for is to be found in our divine portion, so that we ask, Whom have I in heaven but thee? and there is none upon earth that I desire beside thee. Well may we delight ourselves in the Lord who makes us to drink of the river of his pleasures. Our faith stretches her wings and mounts like an eagle into the heaven of divine love as to her proper dwelling-place. The lines have fallen to us in pleasant places; yea, we have a goodly heritage. Let us rejoice in the Lord always; let us show to the world that we are a happy and a blessed people, and thus induce them to exclaim, We will go with you, for we have heard that God is with you.
Biting the Hand That Feeds Us
Biting the Hand That Feeds Us
"Be on your guard; stand firm in the faith; be men of
courage; be strong."1
As reported by Chuck Colson in BreakPoint, a recent
commencement speaker at Georgetown University, a
Catholic school, was Francis Cardinal Arinze, the head
of the Vatican's Pontifical Council for Interreligious
Dialogue. In his address Cardinal Arinze told the
graduating students that "happiness is found not in
the pursuit of material wealth or pleasures of the
flesh, but by fervently adhering to religious
beliefs."
He also stressed the importance of the family stating
that "in many parts of the world, the family is under
siege" saying that "an anti-life mentality [is seen]
in contraception, abortion, infanticide, and
euthanasia." And that the family is "scorned and
banalized by pornography, desecrated by fornication
and adultery, mocked by homosexuality, sabotaged by
irregular unions, and cut in two by divorce."
And as Chuck Colson said, "Well, that's a very
Catholic message one might expect from a Catholic
cardinal. But it proved too much for many in the
audience. Teresa Sanders, a professor of theology,
left the stage during Arinze's remarks. Seventy other
faculty members signed a letter to the dean protesting
what one of them called Arinze's 'wildly inappropriate'
remarks. Really? As a result, the dean apologized for
the Cardinal's remarks and the 'hurt' they caused."2
While I don't think too many Christians are against
contraception for married couples who take family
planning seriously, everything else stated by Cardinal
Arinze is certainly Catholic, Christian, and biblical.
The opposition from the faculty is alarming for at
least two reasons, not the least of which is because
of the intolerance of another's point of view that
differed from their own in a place of higher learning
where every view is, supposedly, to be given a
hearing. It seems today in the West that every
religion and every message except Christianity is
tolerated. This is even of greater concern when this
happens in a Christian educational center.
Even more alarming is the opposition of the faculty of
a Catholic school who are opposed to some of the basic
tenets of the Catholic and Christian faith. One
wonders at their ethics in that they are teaching in a
school where they disagree with its foundational
principles. Why don't they teach in a secular school?
And why is it that those who reject and oppose
Christianity don't leave a country--that was founded
on Christian values--to live in a pagan land?
Far too many today want the benefits, blessings, and
privileges that are based on and built upon
Judeo-Christian values, but don't want to accept the
responsibilities that guarantee its continuance.
Furthermore, they reject the very values that are the
foundation of a free society. In doing so they reject
the source of the benefits they enjoy. In other words,
they're biting the hand that feeds them--the hand of
God!
We cannot have it both ways. We either accept God's
directives or go our own way. And whatever we sow we
will reap--even if it is eventually.
Suggested prayer: "Dear God, please help me in the
midst of the ever-increasing pressure to be
'politically correct' to stand firm with my feet
placed solidly on your Word--the principles of which
are eternal and will endure forever. Thank you for
hearing and answering my prayer. Gratefully, in Jesus'
name, amen."
Growing the Church
Church Multiplication: Growing the Church Exponentially
The long-term health of any denomination or movement can be evaluated by two simple standards: the number of new churches born each year that survive and prosper; and the vigor and reproductive rate of its established of “adult” churches.
In the American Church today, some denominations are thriving, while many others are on the road to extinction. Declining denominations are marked by striking similarities — their members are getting older, their congregations are declining in size, and they start few new churches. Thriving denominations, on the other had, have a much younger demographic and they start many more new churches each year. Eventually declining denominations will become extinct unless they dramatically change their values and behaviors.
In this issue of Enrichment, we explore the topic of church multiplication from multiple perspectives. Hear compelling essays from: Mark Batterson, Neil Cole, Earl Creps, Dave Ferguson, David Kinnaman, Dave Mills, Dave Olson, Nelson Searcy, Ed Stetzer, and others - click on the Title above.
Our Father's Business
Luke 2:41-52(KJV)
Now his parents went to Jerusalem every year at the feast of the passover.
And when he was twelve years old, they went up to Jerusalem after the custom of the feast.
And when they had fulfilled the days, as they returned, the child Jesus tarried behind in Jerusalem; and Joseph and his mother knew not of it.
But they, supposing him to have been in the company, went a day’s journey; and they sought him among their kinsfolk and acquaintance.
And when they found him not, they turned back again to Jerusalem, seeking him.
And it came to pass, that after three days they found him in the temple, sitting in the midst of the doctors, both hearing them, and asking them questions.
And all that heard him were astonished at his understanding and answers.
And when they saw him, they were amazed: and his mother said unto him, Son, why hast thou thus dealt with us? behold, thy father and I have sought thee sorrowing.
And he said unto them, How is it that ye sought me? wist ye not that I must be about my Father’s business? And they understood not the saying which he spake unto them.
And he went down with them, and came to Nazareth, and was subject unto them: but his mother kept all these sayings in her heart.
And Jesus increased in wisdom and stature, and in favour with God and man.
Is the church about the Father's Business or their own business?
The church must ask itself some questions. Are we doing what the people want or what the Father wants?
To get out of the business as usual, the local church should begin to ask itself: "What of eternal significance happens in the life of each individual while in the care of the church?" (from We Build People Making Disciples in the 21st Century).
Are we really about our Father's Business?
Thanksgiving
Let's see how many people can do this. Every day this month until Thanksgiving, think of one thing that you are thankful for and post it as your status. "Today I am thankful for..." The longer you do it, the harder it gets! Now if you think you can do it then repost this message as yours ...invite others to take the challenge, then post what YOU are thankful for today.
Hi all y'all :-) We don't realize what we have here in this country. You can simple go turn on the tap and drinkable water comes out for the most of our country. We open our fridge and take something out to eat and we go to bed at night for the most part able to sleep in nice warm surroundings. We need to thank God every day for this blessing.
Can You Hear It?
by Michele Vento
Can You Hear It? The sound of rain coming.
Can You Hear It? The sound of the Lion of Zion roar.
Can You Hear It? The cry of men's hearts for fear.
Can You Hear It? The cheering and the clapping from heaven, stirring, pushing the saints on.
Can You Hear It? The excuses and apologies for their absence.
Can You Hear It? Multitudes, multitudes in the valley of decision with their hearts in a big ???
Can You Hear It? The voice of ONE who offers hope in a world without it.
Can You Hear It? The sound of preparation in heaven ready to welcome home its citizens.
Can You Hear It? The prayers of the saints saying "how long, how long?"
Can You Hear It? The earth's groaning and sighing, waiting for its redemption, fot the revelation of the sons of God.
Can You Hear It? The voice of Babylon shouting to be heard above all others.
Can You Hear It? The truth speaks softly in the heart of the true hearer.
Can You Hear It? It's the blood of innocent babies crying out from the ground.
Can You Hear It? The blood of the Spotless Lamb crying Father forgive.
Can You Hear It? The voice of the mocker saying "where is the promise of His coming?"
Can You Hear It? The clamor of the groomsman in the streets saying "awake, awake the Bridegroom cometh."
Can You Hear It? The sound of great rejoicing at the overcomers banquet.
Can You Hear It? The crying and weeping and gnashing of teeth of those who would not hear? He who has ears to hear let him hear!
Your Mouth
People today just don't seem to care what comes out of their mouth. Trash and profanity seem to be the norm even for young women. They do not realize how bad they look and sound using the language that spues forth from their mouth. What comes out of your mouth says a lot about what is in your heart! Matthew 12:34 - 35 (KJV) 34O generation of vipers, how can ye, being evil, speak good things? for out of the abundance of the heart the mouth speaketh. 35A good man out of the good treasure of the heart bringeth forth good things: and an evil man out of the evil treasure bringeth forth evil things.
Set good priorities for yourself. Matthew 6:33 (KJV) 33But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you.
Guard your heart for out of it are the issues of life.
What's the Big Deal About Cohabitation? - click here
In todays society the thought is that if you think it is alright to do something it is alright to do it. That is also without regard to what is established as right in times past or according to God's Word. The attitude is who is God anyway?
But I say unto you
Matthew 5:43-48(KJV)
Ye have heard that it hath been said, Thou shalt love thy neighbour, and hate thine enemy.
But I say unto you, Love your enemies, bless them that curse you, do good to them that hate you, and pray for them which despitefully use you, and persecute you;
That ye may be the children of your Father which is in heaven: for he maketh his sun to rise on the evil and on the good, and sendeth rain on the just and on the unjust.
For if ye love them which love you, what reward have ye? do not even the publicans the same?
And if ye salute your brethren only, what do ye more than others? do not even the publicans so?
Be ye therefore perfect, even as your Father which is in heaven is perfect.
Are You Ready for Bigger Things?
Are You Ready for Bigger Things?
“You... enlarged me when I was in distress.” – Psalms 4:1 AMP
Did you know that the hermit crab looks for a shell that fits him, and then lives in it until he outgrows it? At that point he has to scurry along the ocean floor and find a bigger one; it’s a process that repeats itself throughout his entire life.
Are you clinging to something that no longer fits you, just because it’s easy and familiar? David said, “You... freed me when I was hemmed in and enlarged me when I was in distress.” To develop and grow spiritually you must be willing to move out of your comfort zone and deal with a little ‘distress.‘ What worked for you yesterday may not work today.
Maybe it’s a job you’ve outgrown, a relationship you need to re-examine or a behavior you need to change. Regardless of what it is, never become so ‘settled‘ that you can’t let go and move on when you need to. Patience and persistence are admirable, but they won’t work in situations you’ve outgrown. Instead of hanging in and trying harder, at certain points you have to stop and ask yourself, “Is this situation good for me?” If you’re not sure, ask God for “an understanding heart [to]... know the difference between right and wrong. (1 Kings 3:9). His Word says, “If you need wisdom, ask our generous God, and he will give it to you” (James 1:5).
When God says it’s time to move on, it’s because there’s another shell out there that will fit you even better. But you can’t take occupancy until you vacate the old one. So how about it – are you ready for bigger things?
Thanks Pastor Tim Satryan for the above post.
God's Full Armor
God's Full Armor
Ephesians 6:10 - 18 (KJV) 10Finally, my brethren, be strong in the Lord, and in the power of his might. 11Put on the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil. 12For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places. 13Wherefore take unto you the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand. 14Stand therefore, having your loins girt about with truth, and having on the breastplate of righteousness; 15And your feet shod with the preparation of the gospel of peace; 16Above all, taking the shield of faith, wherewith ye shall be able to quench all the fiery darts of the wicked. 17And take the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God: 18Praying always with all prayer and supplication in the Spirit, and watching thereunto with all perseverance and supplication for all saints;
This word of instruction comes to us as encouragement and how to have victory in our lives as Christians. Life comes at us fast sometimes and we can be stable in all the things that come our way.
We have the armor of God - the full armor.
The above scripture allows us to see where we are attacked in our lives. The battle is a spiritual battle.
1. There is a battle for truth in our lives.
2. There is a battle for the direction of our walk and the sureness of it.
3. There is a battle against our faith in the Lord.
4. There is a battle against our mind and our stability in your thinking.
5. There is a battle against our prayer life and it's focus.
In life we are sorely tested at times but GOD always causes us to triumph in Christ Jesus.
God bless you and strengthen you and keep you by His power
Today is the Day
Today is the Day
The time we have on this earth for the most part is an undetermined thing for us. God knows how long we have but we take each day as a new day and should be thankful for it and in it. I was reminded of this in such an in your face way this weekend when my next door neighbor just collasped and died. He was visiting with his father, who needs constant care, not doing anything strenuous and his aorta detached and he died instantly.
That is why today is the day of salvation and not tomorrow when "I get around to it". Jesus Christ died on a cross for our sins. He who knew no sin became sin for us so we could become the righteous of God in Christ.
Romans 10:8 - 13 (NIV) 8But what does it say? “The word is near you; it is in your mouth and in your heart,” that is, the word of faith we are proclaiming: 9That if you confess with your mouth, “Jesus is Lord,” and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. 10For it is with your heart that you believe and are justified, and it is with your mouth that you confess and are saved. 11As the Scripture says, “Anyone who trusts in him will never be put to shame.”£ 12For there is no difference between Jew and Gentile—the same Lord is Lord of all and richly blesses all who call on him, 13for, “Everyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved.”
Call on the Lord today while you have today and ask him to be your saviour...you will never regret it.
Jeremiah 29:11 - 14 (NIV) 11For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the LORD, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future. 12Then you will call upon me and come and pray to me, and I will listen to you. 13 You will seek me and find me when you seek me with all your heart. 14 I will be found by you,” declares the LORD, “and will bring you back from captivity. I will gather you from all the nations and places where I have banished you,” declares the LORD, “and will bring you back to the place from which I carried you into exile.”
Don't put off calling upon the Lord - JUST DO IT!
New World Order coming up fast. - click here
As we approach that day - the church needs to gather together even more. Believers need to set aside their own agendas and really seek the Lord. We are approaching some really rough days as the Whitehouse administration goes after the nullifying of all the freedoms it can as they set in order what has been in process for years. They are going after Fox News now to kill their voice and thus silence people by removing free speech or opposing from off the table. The Hate Crimes bill was attached to another bill and was passed just recently...WAKE UP CHURCH even if America will not.
Hebrews 10:19 - 25 (KJV) 19Having therefore, brethren, boldness to enter into the holiest by the blood of Jesus, 20By a new and living way, which he hath consecrated for us, through the veil, that is to say, his flesh; 21And having an high priest over the house of God; 22Let us draw near with a true heart in full assurance of faith, having our hearts sprinkled from an evil conscience, and our bodies washed with pure water. 23Let us hold fast the profession of our faith without wavering; (for he is faithful that promised;) 24And let us consider one another to provoke unto love and to good works: 25Not forsaking the assembling of ourselves together, as the manner of some is; but exhorting one another: and so much the more, as ye see the day approaching.
AS IT WAS!
As It Was
Luke 17:22 - 18:1 (NIV) 22Then he said to his disciples, “The time is coming when you will long to see one of the days of the Son of Man, but you will not see it. 23Men will tell you, ‘There he is!’ or ‘Here he is!’ Do not go running off after them. 24For the Son of Man in his day£ will be like the lightning, which flashes and lights up the sky from one end to the other. 25But first he must suffer many things and be rejected by this generation. 26“Just as it was in the days of Noah, so also will it be in the days of the Son of Man. 27People were eating, drinking, marrying and being given in marriage up to the day Noah entered the ark. Then the flood came and destroyed them all. 28“It was the same in the days of Lot. People were eating and drinking, buying and selling, planting and building. 29But the day Lot left Sodom, fire and sulfur rained down from heaven and destroyed them all. 30“It will be just like this on the day the Son of Man is revealed. 31On that day no one who is on the roof of his house, with his goods inside, should go down to get them. Likewise, no one in the field should go back for anything. 32Remember Lot’s wife! 33Whoever tries to keep his life will lose it, and whoever loses his life will preserve it. 34I tell you, on that night two people will be in one bed; one will be taken and the other left. 35Two women will be grinding grain together; one will be taken and the other left.£” 35Two women will be grinding grain together; one will be taken and the other left.£” 37“Where, Lord?” they asked. He replied, “Where there is a dead body, there the vultures will gather.” 1Then Jesus told his disciples a parable to show them that they should always pray and not give up.
There is coming a time when one cannot buy or sell without the Mark of The Beast either in your forehead or hand. Look at the technology that is rushing us to the desired end of the world system. Read the article and see what some of the fears of the people are concerning this kind of system.
PS. This is not new technology it has been around and tested for more than 10 years.
How will this affect how you live in the near future?
A THOUGHT FOR TODAY:
Never, never be afraid to do what's right, especially if the well-being of a person or animal is at stake. Society's punishments are small compared to the wounds we inflict on our soul when we look the other way. -Martin Luther King Jr., civil-rights leader (1929-1968)
Keith Green was and is still a voice in the wilderness crying out for all to make straight the way of the Lord. Check out the YOUTUBE Video.
His song messages are for those who hear to repent... Wow now that's a new concept in this day and time...BUT not really... Repentence is a key to an awakening and a revival as well. Repent for the kingdom of God is at hand. Be real in your walk with the Lord. Make a declaration for such. I did and it goes this way:
"As for me and my house, we will serve the Lord!"
A witness for Jesus Christ
If you click on the above title it will take you to Jeff Leake's blog site. There he tells a story of a man driving a van for the motel shuttle service. It is a story that shows how witnessing for the Lord can be done by any saved person in an everyday sharing of what God has done for you.
Be encouraged, you can witness for the Lord without fear of doing it and without all the religious garb. "Here's what happened to me."
The "I Ams" of Jesus Christ
The I Am statements of Christ are worthy of study as to who Jesus really is and His place in our lives.
It is in the Gospel of John,that the most beautiful and personally meaningful "I am's are found. There are seven of these, as follows:
"I am the bread of life" (John 6:35,48,51).
"I am the light of the world" (John 8:12).
"I am the door of the sheep"(John 10:7,9).
"I am the good shepherd" (John 10:11,14).
"I am the resurrection, and the life" (John 11:25).
"I am the way, the truth, and the life" (John 14:6).
"I am the true vine" (John 15:1,5).
There are also seven great "I am" statements in the Book of Revelation, and one of the key verses of this set has to do with His resurrection. "I am He that liveth, and was dead; and, behold, I am alive for evermore, Amen; and have the keys of hell and of death" (Revelation 1:18).
It is significant that the other six "I am"s in Revelation also stress His eternal existence, from eternity to eternity. Note the list below:
"I am Alpha and Omega, the beginning and the ending" (Revelation 1:8).
"I am Alpha and Omega, the first and the last" (Revelation 1:11).
"Fear not; I am the first and the last" (Revelation 1:17).
"I am Alpha and Omega, the beginning and the end" (Revelation 21:6).
"I am Alpha and Omega, the beginning and the end, the first and the last" (Revelation 22:13).
"I am the root and the offspring of David, and the bright and morning star"(Revelation 22:16).
Suffering Produces Gold
Morning and Evening: Daily Readings
by C. H. Spurgeon
Wednesday Morning, October 7
Wherefore hast thou afflicted thy servant? Numbers 11:11
Our heavenly Father sends us frequent troubles to try our faith. If our faith be worth anything, it will stand the test. Gilt is afraid of fire, but gold is not: the paste gem dreads to be touched by the diamond, but the true jewel fears no test. It is a poor faith which can only trust God when friends are true, the body full of health, and the business profitable; but that is true faith which holds by the Lord's faithfulness when friends are gone, when the body is sick, when spirits are depressed, and the light of our Father's countenance is hidden. A faith which can say, in the direst trouble, Though he slay me, yet will I trust in him, is heaven-born faith. The Lord afflicts his servants to glorify himself, for he is greatly glorified in the graces of his people, which are his own handiwork. When tribulation worketh patience; and patience, experience; and experience, hope, the Lord is honoured by these growing virtues. We should never know the music of the harp if the strings were left untouched; nor enjoy the juice of the grape if it were not trodden in the winepress; nor discover the sweet perfume of cinnamon if it were not pressed and beaten; nor feel the warmth of fire if the coals were not utterly consumed. The wisdom and power of the great Workman are discovered by the trials through which his vessels of mercy are permitted to pass. Present afflictions tend also to heighten future joy. There must be shades in the picture to bring out the beauty of the lights. Could we be so supremely blessed in heaven, if we had not known the curse of sin and the sorrow of earth? Will not peace be sweeter after conflict, and rest more welcome after toil? Will not the recollection of past sufferings enhance the bliss of the glorified? There are many other comfortable answers to the question with which we opened our brief meditation, let us muse upon it all day long.
Give me some feed back or your thoughts on this subject of suffering or affliction.
Blessings on Ya
This is God.
Today I will be handling All of your problems for you.. I do Not need your help. So, have a nice day.
I love you.
P.S. And, remember...
If life happens to deliver a situation to you that you cannot handle, do Not attempt to resolve it yourself! Kindly put it in the SFGTD (something for God to do) box. I will get to it in MY TIME.. All situations will be resolved, but in My time, not yours.
Once the matter is placed into the box, do not hold onto it by worrying about it. Instead, focus on all the wonderful things that are present in your life now.
If you find yourself stuck in traffic, don't despair. There are people in this world for whom driving is an unheard of privilege.
Should you have a bad day at work; think of the man who has been out of work for years..
Should you despair over a relationship gone bad; think of the person who has never known what it's like to love and be loved in return.
Should you grieve the passing of another weekend; think of the woman in dire straits, working twelve hours a day, seven days a week to feed her children.
Should your car break down, leaving you miles away from assistance; think of the paraplegic who would love the opportunity to take that walk.
Should you notice a new gray hair in the mirror; think of the cancer patient in chemo who wishes she had hair to examine.
Should you find yourself at a loss and pondering what is life all about, asking what is my purpose? Be thankful. There are those who didn't live long enough to get the opportunity.
Should you find yourself the victim of other people's bitterness, ignorance, smallness or insecurities; remember, things could be worse. You could be one of them!
Should you decide to send this to a friend; Thank you. You may have touched their life in ways you will never know!
Now, you have a nice day...God
America Take Five to Pray
Michele Vento a member of our church here at Blairsville, Pa. has written a powerful book called America Take Five to Pray. It is a daily challenge to come together in prayer for our nation with powerful prayer points to pray for.
Michele is available to come to churches, ladies groups etc. to not only challenge folks to pray but to help them to make prayer a priority in their lives.
Call First Assembly of God Blairsville (724-459-6797) to invite her to come. Her book is available now also from the internet and as she comes to speak she will make it available to everyone. It is a daily prayer guide. See the web page at America Take Five to Pray
The following is from an e-mail that was sent from a pastor and was sent to many people on her E-Mail list.
Greetings to all of you from Pastor Susan Hans,
Our lives all take interesting journeys......some near, some far........ beginning in July 2007 to the present my journeys have led me up and down the East Coast from Maine to Miami. In the spring of this year I spent three weeks in Fairfield, NJ just outside New York City, then three weeks in central and eastern Idaho including Boise. Afterward a week in the Chesapeake Bay area of MD, NJ, PA and then back to the OH Valley. Currently, I am in Anchorage, Alaska for three to four weeks after which I will be in Houston, TX for several weeks. All I can say is America is truly beautiful!
My eyes have been blessed to see so many awesome and glorious sites everywhere I have been. Wonders of nature, diversities of people, ingenuity and technology of man soaring in cities, abounding in farmlands, preserving historical sites, discovering new ways to preserve, renew, and cure our physical, environmental and economic/social problems, the list goes on. I have observed tremendous efforts that are initiated in communities, through organizations, churches, specialized programs and businesses to aid in the continuous battles of human suffering and hopefully bring some relief.
Human suffering is the focus of much of our attention. Humans suffer .... if a list were established to record all human suffering I imagine there wouldn't be enough paper or ink in the world to complete it. Could it really be completed even if there were? So many initiatives have been launched in the name of human suffering it is hard to know which to support as there are so many worthy causes.
I have sent you this extraordinary email because you are a Believer on the Lord Jesus Christ, a Christian, one who follows Jesus. THERE IS AN INITIATIVE that every Believer, and I mean every Believer, needs to exercise right now
in our daily lives. In a world that is full of initiatives focusing on human suffering, there is one initiative that stands out above all................it is the initiative that Jesus Christ gave to His Church.......the Church is the Body of Believers on the Lord Jesus Christ. Those who have been washed in His blood, sanctified by His Word, and set apart by His Spirit. If this is YOU, and I believe it is, here is what I ask you to do........
1. Go to this Web site: Americatake5.com
2. Read the Initiative for believers
3. Listen the the 15 minute video
4. Join the Initiative
5. Send this email to every Christian on your email list
The greatest human suffering, greater than the cancer - greater than natural disasters - greater than crime - greater than job loss: THE SUFFERING OF A SOUL LOST FOR ETERNITY............Go now to Americatake5.com
and take the initiative!!
Special weekend for Me
This weekend will be my 22 year anniversary at the church I have been the pastor of since 1987. My birthday is officially on Saturday and I have reached 65 and Sunday =22 yrs exactly.
When I came here we moved on my birthday and my first sermons as pastor here were on Sunday September 27. I have learned a lot here, both about myself and about people. God has also taught me a lot about Himself as I have been here. I have been through times of great happiness and joy and of great sadness and sorrow as well. At times I wanted to leave here in the worst way. God has never opened another door for me to leave but chose to bless me here.
The Lord is good all the time.
Trust God!
The Future of the Church
People are always questioning the relativity of the church to this time in our world. How does the church fit in?
Ralph Winter said: “Unless and until the future of the world becomes more important to the Church than it’s own future....the Church has no future in the world.”
What do you think about that statement? How does it fit in with what you believe?
Blessed in Christ
Blessed in Christ
Ephesians 1:3 - 8 (KJV) 3Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who hath blessed us with all spiritual blessings in heavenly places in Christ: 4According as he hath chosen us in him before the foundation of the world, that we should be holy and without blame before him in love: 5Having predestinated us unto the adoption of children by Jesus Christ to himself, according to the good pleasure of his will, 6To the praise of the glory of his grace, wherein he hath made us accepted in the beloved. 7In whom we have redemption through his blood, the forgiveness of sins, according to the riches of his grace; 8Wherein he hath abounded toward us in all wisdom and prudence;
Where sin abounds in God's grace He super-abounds to us through Jesus Christ the Lord. He has blessed us with all that the Father has - all that the Son has done and all that the Holy Spirit can apply to us in Christ.
God thought about us before he ever placed us in our mothers womb to be born on this earth and declared us blessed in Christ... PTL
Amazing Grace - Bagpipes
Man in the Image of God
Genesis 1:26 - 27 (NIV) 26Then God said, “Let us make man in our image, in our likeness, and let them rule over the fish of the sea and the birds of the air, over the livestock, over all the earth,£ and over all the creatures that move along the ground.” 27 So God created man in his own image, in the image of God he created him; male and female he created them.
Man was created in the image of God. Here are 9 aspects of this to consider.
Man was created:
1. eternal in his being
2. loving in his nature - character
3. powerful - in word and deed
4. creative - God is creative
5. with knowledge - named all the animals that God brought to him
6. authoritative told to take dominion
7. walikng in light - no sin
8. fruitful - told to multiply
9. Productive - tend the garden
The Key to Power With God and Man
The Holy Spirit is shown to be the one who reveals to us Jesus and all about the kingdom. Christianity could be called a religion of revelation.
The revelation by the Holy Spirit is the master key to the entire kingdom of God. It opens every door in the kingdom and makes it all accessible to us. See John 14, 15, and 16 as Jesus explained what the Holy Spirit would do. Then apply the truths there to your life now. Revelation is the key to power with God and men.
1. The Holy Spirit reveals truth
2. Revelation brings understanding
3. Understanding leads to application
4. Application brings kingdom benefit to self and others
5. Benefit brings opportunities
6. Opportunities are the key to witnessing
7. Witnessing is a key to the salvation of others
8. Salvation is Gods will for all men everywhere
Husbands, Love Your Wives
1 Peter 3:7 (NIV) 7Husbands, in the same way be considerate as you live with your wives, and treat them with respect as the weaker partner and as heirs with you of the gracious gift of life, so that nothing will hinder your prayers.
I Made my wife dinner of Angus NY strip steak, Broccoli in cheese sauce and a sweet potato so when she came home from work today, dinner was ready to eat and she only had to sit and enjoy it. She loved that.
I really enjoy doing things like that and cleaning up the kitchen and even running the sweeper. My wife works outside the home so I try to help her out some at home.
Ephesians 5:24 - 25 (KJV) 24Therefore as the church is subject unto Christ, so let the wives be to their own husbands in every thing. 25Husbands, love your wives, even as Christ also loved the church, and gave himself for it;
A Great Day
Had an awesome day yesterday. We had a great service as I preached the last of 6 messages on write the vision. Casting the vision before the church of what God says church is all about. The presence of God in the service was awesome and We were blessed with visitors from Illinois and New York.
A New Book was made available at our morning service.
One of the folks that is at the church I pastor has authored a book and it is now off the press and available to the public. I have the FIRST signed copy. You can go to her website and order the book and she is available to come and minister at your church on prayer which is the essence of the book. America Take Five to Pray.
America Take Five
Call the First Assembly of God in Blairsville Pa. to make arrangements for her to come to minister at your church.
We took a Wyotech student to lunch. God brought him to our church and has been challenging him to not be afraid to go and follow the Lord in what He is calling him to do. God is awesome.
Then we went to do a water baptism. A young lady that is wanting more of the Lord. She was reading her Bible and said she saw she needed to be water baptized. I asked her some questions during the water baptismal time and ahe publiclly confessed Jesus as her Lord and Saviour at that time, in front of family and friends, and we baptized her in water. Right after that we celebrated her birthday with chocolate cake..it was great!
God is Good all the time and all the time God is good.
