On Father's Day

On Father's Day I gave out a token gift of appreciation to all the fathers that were with us in the service. I gave each father a flash light, complete with batteries, as a symbol of walking in the light as Jesus is in the light. I encouraged the men to be active in the church life and told how important that their participation in church life is. The flashlight is a reminder, every time they look at or use it, of their importance in the kingdom of God.

1 John 1:5 - 7 (KJV) 5This then is the message which we have heard of him, and declare unto you, that God is light, and in him is no darkness at all. 6If we say that we have fellowship with him, and walk in darkness, we lie, and do not the truth: 7But if we walk in the light, as he is in the light, we have fellowship one with another, and the blood of Jesus Christ his Son cleanseth us from all sin.
