As we come into the begining of the new year a look at God is a must so we can stay focused on the truth that is to be conveyed all year. Here is a look at 7 things about the heart of God and His provision for us.

I. God's desire:

As we look at the God of all creation we find that He has a desire for mankind.

2 Pet 3:8 But, beloved, be not ignorant of this one thing, that one day is with the Lord as a thousand years, and a thousand years as one day.2 Pet 3:9 The Lord is not slack concerning his promise, as some men count slackness; but is longsuffering to us-ward, not willing that any should perish, but that all should come to repentance.

God's desire for mankind is that we would come to repentence and come back to Him.

II. God's motive:

Reseach into the Word of God reveals God's motive for bringing His revelation and salvation to His creation man.

John 3:16 For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.John 3:17 For God sent not his Son into the world to condemn the world; but that the world through him might be saved.

God's motive is LOVE. Pure love not conditioned by our love for Him or works that we have done to merit any favor with Him.

III. God's timing:

Man sometimes thinks God is uncaring and even late with a solution for the "things" of life 101. However a look at God's Word shows that God is right on time with all we have need of.

Gal 4:4 But when the fulness of the time was come, God sent forth his Son, made of a woman, made under the law,Gal 4:5 To redeem them that were under the law, that we might receive the adoption of sons.Gal 4:6 And because ye are sons, God hath sent forth the Spirit of his Son into your hearts, crying, Abba, Father.God's timing is like the birthing time of a pregnant woman who is ready to deliver in the alloted days of the pregnancy....In the fulness of time....God's timing -- when everything was just right He sent forth the His only begotten Son made of a woman made under the law.

IV. God's woman

See Luke 1:26 -37 and Matthew 1:18

Isaiah 7:14 shows us that Jesus -- Emmanuel -- God with us was to be born of a virgin and so it was with Jesus as shown in the New Testament account of His birth.

Mat 1:18 Now the birth of Jesus Christ was on this wise: When as his mother Mary was espoused to Joseph, before they came together, she was found with child of the Holy Ghost.Mat 1:19 Then Joseph her husband, being a just man, and not willing to make her a public example, was minded to put her away privily.Mat 1:20 But while he thought on these things, behold, the angel of the Lord appeared unto him in a dream, saying, Joseph, thou son of David, fear not to take unto thee Mary thy wife: for that which is conceived in her is of the Holy Ghost.Mat 1:21 And she shall bring forth a son, and thou shalt call his name JESUS: for he shall save his people from their sins.Mat 1:22 Now all this was done, that it might be fulfilled which was spoken of the Lord by the prophet, saying,Mat 1:23 Behold, a virgin shall be with child, and shall bring forth a son, and they shall call his name Emmanuel, which being interpreted is, God with us.Mat 1:24 Then Joseph being raised from sleep did as the angel of the Lord had bidden him, and took unto him his wife:Mat 1:25 And knew her not till she had brought forth her firstborn son: and he called his name JESUS.

God's woman, hand picked by Him. She was willing to submit to the will of God and endure anything else that came her way, as a result of her obedience.

V. God's man

See verse 19-24

Joseph willing to endure finger pointing and whispers of idle, tongue waggers was open to and obedient to the Lord and His will in their lives. It takes God's man to endure for truths sake above all that comes his way. Joseph was obedient to the heavenly vision.

VI. God's plan

God's plan was in His desire for man that He, because of His pure love, for His special creation, would in his perfect time send forth His only begotten Son. Made of a woman -- God's woman joined together with God's man to introduce through the virgin birth, Jesus the saviour. God's great plan then is fulfilled in.....the fulness of time.

VII. God's Son

He shall save his people from their sins. He was born into this world out of God's love and through Him only can we know that Love. He was born to die so that all who believe on the Lord Jesus Christ should not perrish but have everlasting life...It is only through Jesus that we can come to God..

John 14:6 Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me.
